In addition to building skeletons and models, Smith Studios has been involved in teaching molding, casting, and skeletal mounting techniques to institutions outside the United States. We have worked with the staff at the Instituto y Museo de Ciencias Naturales, Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Argentina. We have also advised and taught
molding, casting, and skeletal mounting techniques to staff at several museums  in China  starting in 1997 .

Smith Studios, Inc. has been building museum exhibits and components for over 25 years. We assist museums and other organizations in their mission to increase and diffuse knowledge by providing the following products and services:

Skeletal reconstructions-mounted original or cast fossil skeletons.

Life restorations-sculpted life-size or scaled models of extinct animals & plants.


Molding, casting,  & fossil preparation.


Research in comparative anatomy & bio-mechanics.

Blacksmithing & steel fabrication.


We also create cast fossil teeth & claws for museum stores.

We work closely with scientific advisers within the field of paleontology on every job to create scientifically accurate work, blending art with science.
